Water Council

The Missouri Public Water Council (MPWC) was organized to coordinate resources and offer a unified voice on legislative and regulatory matters impacting water and wastewater issues at the state and federal level.

The Water Council advocates and works for members in many ways. Staff will:

    • Be an intermediary between regulatory agencies for members;
    • Synthesize information and brief members regarding pertinent issues through MPUA publications and quarterly Board meetings;
    • Be pro-active on issues by regularly meeting with key Department of Natural Resources staff, including the Director, to discuss member concerns;
    • Assist members in completion of compliance documents, funding applications, and technical presentations;
    • Communicate comments and input from members on areas of mutual concern; and
    • Build coalitions among communities.
