On Sept. 24 , MPUA was recognized and honored for the quality of its collaboration by Adapt2 Solutions, a leading provider of multi-market operations and trading software. Among five companies that it recognized with awards at its conference, Adapt 2 said in its announcement that MPUA was recognized as “…the company with the strongest partnership and broadest footprint, setting the standard for energy tech implementations to facilitate rapid ISO transactions with real-time access to purchasing data with Adapt2’s Trade-to-Tag (Adapt2 T2T) trade management solution.”

“Credit and congratulations for this award are deserved by all the MPUA staff that helped with our transition to Adapt2 this year,” said  Rebecca Atkins, MPUA’s Vice President of Market Operations and Analysis.  “We’re hoping to have another good year of innovation and collaboration.”

MPUA successfully implemented the Adapt2 bid-to-bill and tagging system at the end of March, upgrading its previous operations to stay current with settlement and trade management needs. The collaboration enabled MPUA to integrate their settlement system on the Azure cloud, giving MPUA direct access to purchase data, and facilitating more rapid trade transactions. For MPUA members, the implementation means improved asset optimizations and market efficiencies directly leading to increased energy cost savings.

Adapt2 Solutions noted special challenges that award winners met during their 2020 projects and operations. “While the global pandemic challenged energy participants and traders, the honorees of this year’s awards handled drastic levels of change and disruption to strategically drive business objectives,” said Jason Kram, Adapt2 Solutions’ Executive Vice President.

Hometown utility members of MPUA named collaboration as one of five organizational core values as it “leads to creative, innovative solutions.”
