At the Oct. 2 Boards of Directors meeting, former MPUA President Duncan Kincheloe was honored with the presentation of a new Alliance Award that will continue to bear his name. Among MPUA’s annual awards, the new “Duncan Kincheloe Value of Hometown Utilities Award” was presented to honor Duncan’s exceptional career of service to the Alliance.

Public announcements of other Alliance Awards for 2020 will soon be made. The Value of Hometown Utilities Award will continue to be given in the future to individuals or utilities with achievements that exemplify and advance the high value of hometown utilities throughout the Alliance.

Kincheloe has had a significant impact on the municipal utility industry in Missouri, the Mid-states region, and nationally. He stepped down in August  from service in a 21-year role as MPUA’s first President, CEO, and General Manager. He helped launch the Alliance from its 1999 foundations, and diligently worked to support the mission and activities of MPUA. Duncan continues to serve the Alliance as a consultant to the MPUA Resource Services Corporation, and on other special projects including federal electricity policy matters.
